Frequently asked questions
How much does tutoring cost?+
From £15/hr. Rates vary by tutor and level — each tutor’s rate is shown on their profile.
Is the first session really free?+
Yes. Every tutor offers a free 30-minute taster — a relaxed first session to get to know your child and do a quick assessment, with no obligation to continue.
How are sessions delivered?+
Online by default, over Zoom or Microsoft Teams. In the school holidays, in-person sessions may be possible if you’re nearby, at the tutor’s discretion and with a parent present.
What levels and subjects do you cover?+
ISEB 11+, Common Entrance (13+), GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level, across maths, sciences, English, languages, humanities and more. Each tutor lists exactly what they teach at each level.
Who are the tutors?+
Current Eton College students, personally selected on academic record and, just as importantly, how well they teach. They’re talented students, not professional teachers — which is part of why they’re so relatable and affordable.
How do I book and arrange sessions?+
Find a tutor and request them through the site. You (the parent) then receive the tutor’s contact details and arrange session times directly — all communication goes through the parent, never the child.
Is it safe for my child?+
Yes. Parents are welcome to sit in, sessions can be recorded on request, and all booking and communication go through parents.
What if the tutor isn’t the right fit?+
Just let us know and we’ll match you with another tutor — the free taster is there to check the fit before you commit.
What do I need for online sessions?+
A laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and Zoom or Teams installed. The tutor sends a link for each session.
